Coming soon...

...actually next week in the UK. A quarterly mag put out by Classic Rock Magazine devoted to **Prog**. Heretofore, they only did one issue per year with that theme. . Lucky Brits. We'll have to wait a good 6 weeks for this issue to make it to our shores. :-(

I'm planning on camping out overnight outside the newsagents to be sure to get my copy.

Progtastic!

Best Wishes,

funny you should use that handle. i've been listening to "Time Honoured Ghosts" a lot this week. while it's certainly a pleasant album, methinks after the first two tracks, it becomes quite ...erm... ordinary.

I have now secured a copy of this much anticipated journal. My local purveyor of all paper-based periodicals only had one copy. Maybe I managed to get the last one. Possibly. Maybe they only had one copy. Likely.

7.99 UKP - Ouch. Will be about the same in $$$ I guess. Comes in a 'wallet' which means that you can't see the mag or CD without ripping it apart first. I took a chance, handed over a tenner and left with the package and some shrapnel.

The mag is 100+ pages, and seems to be new/fresh copy. Have cherry-picked a few articles and am pleased.

The CD is 10 tracks of new Prog. Mostly new to me, although I suspect that I heard the 'Diagonal' track on a "Classic Rock" CD a while ago. 5 tracks are excellent, 3 are OK, 2 are a bit too far removed from the genre for my taste (Guys - Drum'n'Bass has no place in prog, nor does clarinet).

Overall this seems to have been a worthy purchase. Second issue is due 20th May. That will be the issue that like "the difficult second album" makes or breaks it.

Arrghh! I'm counting the hours until it gets here. Or maybe the days. Weeks, perhaps? How 'bout months.
