Standards have certainly dropped. Now even the use of Latin is being discouraged:
Ban on the use of Latin terms
Latin never did me any harm. Not sure that the ancient Romans found it a terrible problem either. Kids today don't know they're born ...

In 8th grade, freaking Latin gave me my first scholastic "D".
And of course, Hamilcar is very anti anything to do with Rome.
Ergo, none of my personas have any objection to expunging Latin. Domini, domini. Ipso facto. Cave canem.
