I'm never quite sure what adjective to use with this holiday. Should you be "happy" while remembering the fallen? Somber, maybe. But "Somber Memorial Day" just doesn't sound right. How 'bout "Thoughtful"?
In any event, I found the above image to be powerful. We probably forget that at least a few of those who gave their lives for this country were quadrupeds.
