I've been here!
Only once, about 8 years ago. It was night when we visited those towers in the background, and drizzling. I'll let you guess this place. At the bottom of one of the towers is a three-story shopping mall that we wandered about in. At the time, IIRC, the public didn't have access to that walkway you see in the picture below. They opened it about a year later.

My husband guesses this is possibly in Malaysia? I don't have a clue.
He's right. Kuala Lumpur. At the time (and maybe still) the towers were the tallest building(s) in the world. I spent a week in KL, Singapore, and Thailand. But it was a business trip, so not much sightseeing.
I didn't know how to spell Kuala Lumpur, and I was too lazy to look it up. When he told me therre in Malaysia, I thought about phonetically spelling it out here, but figured "Koala Lampur" would look too stupid. :)
even over there, they simply refer to it as "KL" a lot of times. BTW, i detected a warm-weather bent in your 5 vacation destinations. KL is 90°F year round. and the people are fantastic.
i'll have to think of my 5, but for the most part, they'll be cooler climes.
Odd, I didn't think about the warm weather thing. I hate hot weather. To be fair, I'd want to be there in the cooler months. And technically South Africa has a pretty temporate climate, and Prague I think, too.
I took down that particular blog post. I'm not sure why. For some reason it didn't feel right. Probably because I haven't slept a full night of sleep in 10 days.
