Germany 3 - Turkey 2

Turkey's string of miracle finishes came to an end yesterday, as this time it was Germany who scored in the last minutes of the game to win 3-2. Once again, Turkey had more substitutes than first-stringers on the field, so things bode well for the Turks in the World Cup championships to be played in South Africa in 2010.

Congratulations Turkey! You played like lions, you never gave up, and you were the best story of Euro 2008! We salute your spirit.

The front page today showed Spain winning this after 40+ years without. Sounds like an underdog won in the end anyway eh?

Spain was a good story, although they were one of the better teams in the tournament. i think they were favored against Germany.

Russia was also a young, exciting team to watch. Italy and France under-performed. And England didn't even qualify.

all in all, an exciting tournament. and perhaps a preview of things to come in the World Cup two years from now in South Africa.
