IAIADWAIUTMAIL? (c)

Both trees were eunuchs when we bought them. Or something like that. They stayed that way for a dozen years or so. Then, about 10 years ago, they must've watched Jurassic Park, cuz they suddenly sexed up. Which means I will have to repeat this chore in a couple months, except that it will be a zillion seed-pods, instead of leaves.

I LOVE RAKING LEAVES !! I'd gladly clean them up for you, any time. Having several maple and oak trees, plus other types of leaves that blow in from neighboring properties, I get to do a heck of a lot more leaves than you are showing here. Composted, they turn into black gold. Sorry, you don't have my sympathy on this one !! What's not to like - spending time out in crisp fall weather (you do have crisp weather SOMETIMES, don't you?) is a lot better than the thankless task of mowing the @#*% lawn.

i agree - raking leaves is a lot better than mowing the lawn. and note how green the lawn is here. Liz plants winter-grass every stinking autumn.

the problem here is the futility of it all. you rake them (mow them), and by the time you get to the far end of the yard, it looks like you never touched the near end. heck, for two weeks, i'm like the painters of the Golden Gate Bridge - i could just keep repeating the chore, over and over again. :-p
