Once upon a time, there was an Internet site where you could practice the vocabulary in one of several foreign languages (French, Spanish, German, maybe one other).
Every time you got the right answer, a couple grains of rice would drop into a bowl. In theory, the rice would then be donated to some starving kid somewhere. So you got the feel-goods for playing.
But I got thinking. You mean to tell me some kid is going to starve because I didn't "win" enough rice that day?
