Back from Seattle

   We're back from our week-long sojourn in Seattle.  The flight schedules were all fscked up due to bad weather in Texas and elsewhere, so we took the Stargate portal.

Back To Work Tomorrow

   It's been nice to be off work for six days, for various festivities.  Alas, all good things must come to an end.  Tomorrow it's back to work, starting with the alarm going off at 5:30 AM.

Back To Work

    After two weeks of vacation, it is time to go back to work tomorrow.  But it's only for one day. and then I'm off until Friday.

    I am soooooooo not looking forward to the advent of 5-day workweeks starting the following Monday.

On hiatus

    We are on hiatus until Sunday, 28 December, at which time we will return to our usual rambling, aimless, and unfocused postings.  In the meantime, why not enjoy some of the historical blather we've posted?

Back from the Cruise

    We're back from our 1-week Alaskan cruise.  We departed Seattle last Sunday night on the above piece of floating luxury, and got back in town at midnight last night.

    This was our first cruise, and it was definitely a memorable experience.  The legs of the cruise were :

Day 1  :  get on board.  explore the ship.

Day 2  :  at sea.  rough water.

Day 3  :  Ketchikan

Day 4  :  Juneau

Day 5  :  Skagway

Day 6  :  at sea.  kinda rough water.

Day 7  :  at sea until 6:00 PM.  then Victoria, Canada.

Day 8  :  disembark.  in Seattle with friends.  fly home.

   We didn't do any of the tours.  Seattle and Victoria were sunny.  All the Alaska stops were overcast, with occasional light rain.  Well, it is a rainforest, after all.  And since we were coming from Phoenix summer weather, we dug the cold and the gray and the wetness.

    We took tons of pictures.  If I get ambitious. I'll put 'em up on a blog.  Along with "30 things I learned on the cruise". 

Vacation!

   Yowzah!  I'm on vacation until the Tuesday after Christmas.  In fact, I only work three more days this year - the Tuesday - Wednesday - Thursday of that week.  I have that Friday off too.  Gotta use my vacation days or lose them.

    There is Xmas shopping to do.  That's a two-week ordeal for me, but only cuz I'll find excuses not to start it next week.  Which is really stoopid on my part, since the schools won't be out until the following week.

back from Los Angeles

    Three wonderful, thrill-packed days - one each at California Adventure, Disneyland, and Six Flags Magic Mountain.  Lots of walking.  My feet are sore, my calves are barking at me, and my stomach is still not quite recovered from the roller coaster rides at 6F-MM last night.

    The weather was perfect, the company and conversation was fantastic, and lots of great pics were taken.   With a bit of luck, I'll find time to post some of them.  It was nice to get away, but it's also nice to be back home.  Our puppies are glad we've returned as well.   

Off to see Dumbo and Goofy

    We're off to spend the weekend in L.A.  The plan is to do Disneyland, California Adventure (or whatever it's called), and Magic Mountain.  Okay fine.  But I've seen Disneyland 3 or 4 times already.  So I've hatched a plan to sneakily divert us into a parallel universe.  Similar to ours of course (that's why they call it 'parallel'), but one in which Zombies rule.  BRAINZ!
