The Debate

I have to admit - I only watched the last 30 minutes or so.  Mittens was definitely the aggressor; Obama seemed like he'd popped a Quaalude.  Of course, it's easy to sound flashy when you're spouting out one lie after another.  And the problem for Mittens is - most voters have made up their minds already.  So I doubt he'll get much of a "bump" from this.

See ya, Lance

According to Lance, he just got tired and decided to quit fighting the allegations that he cheated.  Time and time again.

And that he'd accept being stripped of his Tour de France victories.  And that he'd accept being banned from competing in future events.

Yeah, right.  I don't have a high regard for the dude (I work with a few people - biking enthusiasts, of course - who worship him), but I will say one thing for him - he's not a quitter.

So methinks the evidence was overwhelming.  See ya, Lance.  Your string of TdF wins seemed too good to be true.  And now it turns out they were too good to be true.

Anagrams

   DID YOU KNOW :

That if you anagram "Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan", you come up with "My Ultimate Ayn Rand Porn"?

One cannot over-emphasize the mystical significance of this.

Why Tea-Baggers shouldn't Chrono-Hop

It takes a certain IQ level to Time Travel responsibly.  Otherwise you just screw things up worse than they already are.  It's kinda like being a Federation starship commander.  You're safe with Jean-Luc Picard.  You're iffy with James T. Kirk.  You're hosed with Beavis & Butthead.

but it's okay

I'm always dismayed by how short of a memory the Electorate has.  The economy was on the brink of collapse when we dumped Dubya's sorry a$$ in 2008.  We are still in the midst of a recession no matter what anyone says; but overall, things have stabilized economically.

We have a long way to go, and one critical reform needed is to the Banking Industry.  Alzheimered Reagan foolishly pushed deregulation, and Dubnutz allowed lending policies during his regime that border on being criminal.  Wall Street Moguls are greedy fat-cats who will gouge the poor unless specifically forbidden to do so.

So join your local "Occupy" organization and march/protest/occupy to show your support.  You ARE part of the 99%, not the 1%.

About Wisconsin

Yes, I'm middle management. Nevertheless, I am a strong supporter of Labor Unions. And after watching Wisconsin Republicans try to blatantly screw them out of existence, I support them even more. Methinks the teabaggers have over-reached this time.

Saying doesn't make it so

Here's the thing, teabaggers. Just because you say you're not bigoted doesn't mean you're not.

It's the Economy, Stupid!

It's incredible to me that people are forgetting whose regime put us in this Recession. The dolts who preach that the way to balance the budget is to cut taxes for the rich, and spend, spend, spend.
.
To a certain extent, Obama was screwed no matter how the economy fared once he took office. If he fixed it in the first two years, the GOP-heads would say, "See! We really didn't screw things up that bad!" And if Obama didn't work miracles (which is the case), then they'd say. "See! It's all the Democratic Congress's fault!"
.
In truth, Dubya left the economy on the brink of collapse. It's a delicate process to put it back together again and the way Clinton left it in 2000 - with a budget surplus. It won't be fixed overnight, and it won't be fixed in even four years. And the fat cat Republicans who put us in this mess shouldn't be allowed to screw it up once again.

New Immigration Hate Law

Governor Jan Brewer, unloved by Arizona Democrats and Republicans alike, signed our recently-passed Immigration Hate Bill today. Essentially, it means anyone Hispanic-looking better be carrying proof that they're an Amiercan citizen at all times, or else they will be stopped on the street for no reason, jailed, and if unable to prove citizenship, deported. . You can read MSNBC's latest post on it here. Once again, Arizona is the #1 laughingstock of the nation. Brewer says she will not tolerate racial profiling by the police, which brought guffaws all around, since we have already have a xenophobic sheriff who's been conducting racially-profiled raids for years. .
John McCain, fighting for his political life against a room-temperature-IQ, ex-sportscaster (and a poor one at that), dittohead Republican challenger, came out in favor of the bill. If you're a Republican in Arizona, you basically win primaries by convincing people that you're dumber and more bigoted than your rivals.
.
Steve Benson, our pride and joy political cartoonist for the Arizona Republic, has been having a field day with our state idiocies. Two of his recent efforts are above. Right on, Steve! It's nice to see that not every Arizonan has been lobotomized.

They've always been here.

I'd check under my bed for Commies tonight, but it sits on a box frame.

Best Cartoons for the Past Week

Steve Benson (top cartoon) is fantastic, as usual.
