    So will I.  However, I do find it academically interesting to see how the Advertisers construct the opening 5 seconds of the ads to try to entice you to stick around.

Stasis

    Stasis : a period or state of inactivity or equilibrium.

    Stasis : a Magic The Gathering card.

    Stasis : the name, and the second track of, an Etherfysh album.


    Inexplicably, no one has ever posted an Etherfysh track on YouTube, not even the dude himself.  I'm seriously considering making this my next YouTube post.  At 7:49 minutes in length, that will take a lot of images to make it interesting.  My thought is to use a bunch of MTG cards, as there are hundreds, if not thousands of them to choose from.  Starting with the Stasis card itself.

    Alas, my familiarity of MTG is flimsy at best.  My preferred game is Chess.  So picking kewl MTG cards for the video will be spotty, other than the Black Lotus.  Feel free to leave suggestions in the comments.

I can YouTube!

    I may be a techno-dinosaur, but over the weekend I figured out how to create a music video *AND* post it on YouTube.

    I bought a $10 software program called Movie Studio at Best Buy a couple weeks back, but only got to playing with it last week.  On Saturday, I wanted to post a Lonnie Mack song, Three Angels on FaceBook, but was astounded to find it wasn't on YouTube.  So that was a good motivation to get serious about learning Movie Studio.

    It wasn't too difficult of a learning curve, although I kept the bells-&-whistles to a minimum - Title Screen, four pics of the album the song is on, and a transition between the pics.  I had digitalized the song earlier from the LP, but still had to de-scratch it.

    I then had to figure out how to post to YouTube, and that took some time.  But all-in-all, I was satisfied with my first-time effort.  The link is below, but you can also just search YouTube for "Lonnie Mack Three Angels" and it'll come right up.

Does Your Chewing Gum Lose It's Flavour (on the bedpost overnight)?

I learned about a new (for me) musical genre today - Skiffle. It's foremost artist - indeed, its founding father, was one Lonnie Donegan. I found a 3-CD compilation of his stuff for $7 at the used-book store, and played it at work all day today. It's strange listening to something that makes Bluegrass seem highbrow. Here's one of his more famous songs, although strictly speaking, I don't think it's a true example of Skiffle.
