American Gods

    A fantastic book that I read years ago.  American Gods is my favorite Neil Gaiman novel, although I say that same thing about a couple other of his books.  And today you can get it for your Kindle for the low price of $2.99.

Library Day tomorrow!

    Every third Saturday we go to the main branch of the Phoenix Public Library, borrow 10 CD's each, get a couple DVD's, and occasionally pick up a book or two.  Tomorrow's the day!

Stardust (Movie)

    My second movie watched in 2013.  The first was Batman - The Dark Knight Rises.

    We'll give Stardust 9*/10.  Great special effects; a cute romance for Liz to get into; and of course, the genius of Neil Gaiman behind it all.  Michelle Pfeiffer does a good job, and the two young'uns are okay, including Claire Danes, who is a fine Gynneth Paltrow lookalike.  But Robert DeNiro frankly steals the show.

    I read the book back in October 2011, and gave it 9½*/10.  No surprise there, Gaiman is a frickin' fantastic author.  The movie is almost - but not quite - as good.
