She
held up the pistol for us to admire.
“Keltec P-3AT, .380 caliber. It’s
a nice semiautomatic. Six rounds is
plenty. And it’s bigger than a .32 and
smaller than a .38. It’s lightweight,
and easy to handle for a woman’s smaller hands.
“Try it,” she said, shoving the grip into my hand.
I
hefted the small gun. “Is it empty?”
“Don’t be silly, of course it’s not empty.”
